Jul 06, 2011 · On my 42" Pioneer Plasma (PDP-4271) I get the buzz, but I find that the buzzing increases and decreases in volume based on how much "WHITE" is on the screen. If the screen is very bright, or WHITE, I hear a lot of buzzing, but durring darker scenes the buzzing is almost non-existent.

I took a small C-clamp and tried clamping the laminations of the main transformer together in various places (near all the welds) and also of the large inductor (like a transformer, laminated, could buzz) but none of the clamp placements resulted in the slightest variation in the sound.

I'm going to try the speaker thing because what PY mentioned about the Stereo light resonated with me. I know that they make some level of noise but this is ridiculous! It's not on the wall or close to a hard surface, it's sitting on a glass stand in the corner of the room but it's still too loud.
